MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Intermittent rainfall across various parts of Azad Kashmir, including the capital Muzaffarabad, has brought a noticeable chill to the weather, prompting residents to bring out their warm clothing.

The cold spell has also affected the Neelum and Leepa valleys, where temperatures have dropped following the rain.

As the weather turns colder, shopping activity at local Landa (second-hand clothing) markets has increased, with residents purchasing warm clothes to prepare for the changing conditions.

The rainfall has added to the seasonal chill across the region, while residents continue to adjust to the colder weather. Temperatures have dropped in Azad Kashmir’s Leepa Valley due to heavy rain and snowfall on the mountains, leading to an increase in the intensity of the cold.

With the onset of colder weather, locals have brought out warm clothing and started lighting heaters in their homes.

According to the Meteorological Department, the spell of rain is expected to continue until October 15, which could further intensify the cold.

The sudden change in weather in Leepa Valley has heightened the feeling that winter has arrived.
