QUETTA (Kashmir English): The moon for the month of Rabi-ul-Thani was not sighted across the country; consequently, the 1st of Rabi-ul-Thani will fall on Monday, September 14.
Announcing the non-sighting of the moon, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, stated that no credible testimony regarding the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Thani moon was received from any part of the country.
He noted that the sky remained overcast in most regions, making moon sighting difficult. He added that even in areas where the sky was clear, no reliable reports of the moon being sighted were received.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad stated that reports and testimonies regarding the moon sighting from various parts of the country were reviewed, but no such evidence was obtained from any location.
According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman, after reviewing all evidence and reports, it has been decided that the month of Rabi-ul-Thani will commence on Monday, September 14.
He stated that the public has been formally informed about the start of Rabi-ul-Thani, and religious bodies as well as relevant institutions across the country will schedule their activities in accordance with the beginning of the new Islamic month.
Thus, following the conclusion of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, Monday, September 14, will mark the 1st of Rabi-ul-Thani.
