LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Board of Governors of the Danish Schools Authority has decided to allocate a special quota for children from Bangladesh.
The board also gave approval to increase the quota for students from Balochistan in the institutions.
Allocation of special quota for students from Bangladesh was approved on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The decisions to this effect were taken in a meeting of the Board of Governors of the Danish Schools Authority chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
The minister invited two girl students of Danish Schools who had secured top positions in Matric examinations to participate in the meeting.
According to an official statement, they were included in the consultation and their suggestions were sought on various matters.
According to the education minister, around 1,100 students from other provinces are currently studying in Danish Schools under the special quota system.
He told the meeting that students from Bangladesh would also become part of this educational initiative from the next academic year.
Rana Sikandar said 3,460 students having completed initial education in Danish Schools were currently providing professional services in different fields, while 110 were continuing their education at Beaconhouse University on full scholarships.
AI-based syllabus in Danish Schools
The minister was informed that an artificial intelligence-based syllabus had been introduced for students of grade six to nine, while focus was also being given to developing their social skills.
The participants were informed that 16 daycare centres had been established in Danish Schools and Centres of Excellence.
