LAHORE (Kashmir English): Another important facility has been introduced for Punjab’s citizens to get a driving license.
Citizens have been provided with the facility to submit an application for a learner driving license at 15 e-service centers established under the Punjab Information Technology Board.
After completing the necessary procedures and verification of documents, the learner’s license is issued on the spot.
According to the authorities, the learner’s driving license issued from e-service centers will be valid for six months. Citizens can avail this facility from these centers from 9 am to 5 pm.
Citizens applying for a learner’s license will have to visit the nearest e-service center with relevant identity documents and the prescribed fee.
For more information and guidance, citizens can contact the e-service website or helpline number 1317.
On the other hand, the process of renewing driving licenses has also been made easier for citizens across Punjab. Now, citizens will be able to apply for renewal of their driving licenses from home through their mobile phones without having to visit license centers repeatedly.
After the transfer of driving license-related services to the Dastak app, the entire application process has been made online. Applicants can submit their application through the app after entering their details, uploading the required documents, and paying the prescribed fee.
Citizens will also be able to track the status of their license preparation and delivery online.
According to the authorities, this move aims to save citizens from long queues at government offices and make driving license services more convenient and transparent.
