JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and international social activist, Syed Zeeshan Haider, has called on the Federal and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) governments to take immediate action to support and provide relief package to the LoC border areas that have been severely affected by recent Indian shelling.
Speaking to the media, Zeeshan Haider said that several LoC border areas including Jhelum Valley, Chakothi, Khilana, Leepa Valley, Chinary, and Chham Sector have come under direct attack.
He warned that civilians are in constant danger, with homes destroyed, children deprived of education, and women and the elderly living under the constant threat of death.
Haider urged the government to announce a special and comprehensive relief and development package for these LoC border areas.
He proposed that the families of those martyred should be given official recognition, along with full financial support, educational assistance for their children, and housing facilities.
He stressed that those injured in the attacks must receive free medical treatment and long-term rehabilitation plans supported by the government to help them return to normal life.
To ensure safety in the future, Haider recommended the construction of private safety bunkers for every home in the LoC border areas.
He also called for community bunkers to be built alongside schools, health centres, and community halls.
Haider further demanded immediate restoration of basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, clean water, and internet services.
For families who have been displaced due to the fear of Indian shelling, he asked the government to provide proper shelter, employment opportunities, and access to education.
He also suggested launching emergency training programmes in affected areas and offering scholarships, free education, and special quotas for children of the martyrs to secure their future.
Haider proposed that Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, and local district authorities work in coordination with the Pakistan Army to set up a joint emergency response system, ensuring timely action in any future crises in the LoC border areas.
Zeeshan Haider reaffirmed his commitment to continue visiting the affected LoC border areas and announced plans to compile a detailed white paper highlighting the issues and demands of the victims.
He said this document will be presented to the federal and AJK governments as well as international organisations.
He also appealed to the media to raise the voices of these suffering Kashmiris, who are fighting a daily battle for survival under the shadow of bullets and fear.
