PTI Azad Kashmir Joint Secretary Sardar Atiq passes away

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Sardar Atiq Sakhavat Advocate, Central Joint Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir, passed away in Islamabad.

Sardar Atiq Sakhavat, hailing from Mang Azad Kashmir, was a very active leader of the PTI Azad Kashmir chapter. His funeral prayer was offered at Jamia Masjid Ashra Mubashra in Pakistan Town, which was attended by political and social leaders.

His second funeral prayer will be offered today (Saturday), at his ancestral village Mang.

Meanwhile, President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Azad Kashmir and former Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi reached Sardar Atiq Sakhavat Advocate’s house upon hearing the news of his demise.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi expressed deep sorrow and regret, stating that Sardar Atiq was a PTI ‘lion’, adding his sudden death is a great loss to the party.

He said that he has lost a devoted companion, adding his services for the party will always be remembered. “Workers like Sardar Atiq Sakhavat are a valuable asset to political parties.”

Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan also expressed sorrow over the demise of Sardar Atiq Sakhavat, saying that he was deeply saddened to hear the news of the sudden passing of Sardar Atiq Sakhavat Advocate.

He said that death is an undeniable reality, and every one of us has to return to our Lord at the appointed time, where after the Day of Judgment, a real and eternal life will begin.

Other political and social leaders also expressed sorrow over the demise of Sardar Atiq Sakhavat Advocate.
