LAHORE (Kashmir English): Two Lahore Qalandars players violated the PCB and PSL security protocols during their stay at the Lahore’s Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament.

Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza did not heed the security staff, and both allowed four of their friends to stay in their room for approximately two and a half hours.

DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal wrote a letter to PSL officials regarding the violation of security protocols.

“As per contents of the reports of SP Operation, Civil Lines Division, Lahore a serious breach of established security protocols occurred on March 28, 2026 at the PC Hotel where all PSL participant teams are currently residing under strict security arrangement,” read a letter written by the DIG to the PCB and PSL Chief Executive Officers.

“At approximately 2235 hours, the Liaison Officer of Lahore Qalandars approached Lt. Col. (Retd) Akhtar Hussain, Manager Security and Anti-Corruption, PCB, seeking permission to allow four relatives of player Mr. Sikandar Raza to visit his room. The request was declined in accordance with the security protocols in place. Subsequently, Mr. Sameen Rana, owner of Lahore Qalandars, also approached Mr. Salman Naseer, CEO PSL, with the same request, which was again declined on security grounds.”
