MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Deputy Commissioner of Muzaffarabad issued a notification today announcing that a pro-Palestine rally will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, after the Friday prayer.
The rally will be taken out against the continued Israeli oppression of the innocent Palestinians. It will start from the Old Secretariat mosque to the Press Club to showcase solidarity with great spirit.
A protest demonstration was held today in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK), against the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Palestine. The demonstration, titled “Save Gaza March,” witnessed strong slogans raised against Israel, expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine.
The demonstration led by Jamaat-e-Islami District Poonch arose to protest the Israeli military’s cruel conduct in the area. The 1/5 Chowk-based demonstration started with Jamaat-e-Islami members, Islamic Jamiat-e-Talaba participants, and students from different educational institutions.
Participants displayed Palestinian flags while they moved through the urban area with strong patriotic placards shouting to expose Israeli activities. The march served two purposes: to expose Palestinian sufferings and to pressure international Muslim institutions to become involved.
Addressing the participants of the protest, former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Dr Khalid Mehmood Khan, along with District Ameer Sardar Zahid Rafiq Advocate, Jamaat-e-Islami Rawalakot Ameer Sardar Adnan Razaq, and other speakers, strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli oppression.
The speakers described the attacks on Palestinians as part of a systematic genocide and urged the 57 Islamic countries to rise collectively against these atrocities. They emphasised that the time for statements has passed and that active resistance and unity are now necessary.
They also declared that Jihad has become obligatory in the current circumstances and called for an immediate and complete boycott of Israeli products across all Muslim nations. According to the speakers, standing by silently amounts to complicity in the crimes being committed against innocent Palestinians.
The protest concluded with renewed chants of support for the people of Gaza and vows to continue raising voices until justice is served. The participants reiterated their commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause on all fronts, including social, political, and economic platforms.
