MUZAFFARANAD (Kashmir English): The top leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has finalised its candidate for the election of the next Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to party sources, the PPP has officially nominated Syed Bazal Ali Naqvi as its candidate for the position of Leader of the House, or Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
Following the decision, the PPP leadership has directed Syed Bazal Ali Naqvi to immediately submit his nomination papers for the election of the Prime Minister in the AJK Legislative Assembly.
The nomination comes at a crucial stage in the political situation in Azad Kashmir, where efforts are underway regarding the formation of the next government.
The PPP’s decision is being viewed as an important development in the ongoing political manoeuvring within the AJK Assembly.
Following the announcement, political consultations and efforts to secure support for the upcoming election have intensified.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also nominated Barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani for the post of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, setting the stage for a closely watched contest in the assembly.
The final outcome will depend on the strength of support each candidate is able to secure among members of the AJK Legislative Assembly.
