MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has nominated Barrister Iftikhar Gilani as the next Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The decision to nominate Iftikhar Gilani as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir was made with the approval of Nawaz Sharif, Marriyum Aurangzeb said.
Iftikhar Gilani will submit his nomination papers on behalf of PML-N for the election of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
Among the participants of the meeting were PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir and ex-prime minister of AJK Raja Farooq Haider. Newly elected AJK Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq was also present at the meeting.
Senator Rana Sanaullah and ex-federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique also attended the meeting. Deputy Speaker Ahmed Raza Qadri and Barrister Iftikhar Gilani were also in attendance.
The election process of the incoming AJK prime minister has been postponed for another day, and the Assembly will vote for the prime minister later on August 28.
