PPP Azad Kashmir leadership summoned to Karachi by party high command

KARACHI (Kashmir English): The top leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party, Azad Kashmir, has been summoned to Karachi by the party leadership.

The meeting will discuss important matters regarding the possible political change in Azad Kashmir.

According to party sources, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Sardar Yaqub, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, and Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf have reached Karachi.

The Kashmiri leadership will meet with Kashmir Affairs In-charge Faryal Talpur to discuss the current political situation in Azad Kashmir, the possibilities of government formation, and the possible candidate for the Prime Minister.

Faryal Talpur will brief Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari after taking a detailed report from the party leaders.

Important decisions regarding the new political alignment and future government setup in Azad Kashmir are expected in the meeting, while various names of the People’s Party for the Prime Minister are being considered.

Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari had summoned an emergency meeting of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Azad Kashmir Parliamentary Party, and the central leadership at the President’s House in Islamabad.

The political situation in the state, the recent protest movement of the Joint Awami Action Committee, the PPP’s alliance with the AJK government, and organizational matters were discussed in detail.

As per details, the meeting also deliberated on the continuation or possible withdrawal from the coalition government.

The session was attended by the PPP Azad Kashmir Parliamentary team led by President AJK Chapter Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, while Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and other senior PPP leaders were also present.
