ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): After a meeting between the Muslim League (N) and Jamiat Ulema Jammu and Kashmir and All Jammu and Kashmir Central Jamiat Ahle Hadith regarding an electoral alliance, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party leadership has also become active in the political field.

A meeting was held in Islamabad between Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz, a central leader of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Azad Kashmir, and Maulana Saeed Yusuf, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Azad Kashmir, where a possible electoral alliance was discussed.

The leadership of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Azad Kashmir will support Maulana Saeed Yusuf, the candidate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Azad Kashmir from Palandri, in return of support from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Azad Kashmir across the state.

PPP candidate from Palandri

From Palandri, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party has veteran politician Sardar Muhammad Hussain as its candidate, who recently joined the party along with the Barrister Group, but due to his old age, he is not politically active, while in the constituency, Najeeb Naqi of Muslim League (N) is in a strong position.

The leadership of both the Pakistan Peoples’ Party and the Muslim League (N) is trying to win as many seats and include as many people as possible in their parties.

It is hoped that JUI (F) Azad Kashmir will form an electoral alliance with the Pakistan Peoples’ Party, as a result of which Amir JUI Saeed Yusuf will get the support of PPP against Dr. Najeeb Naqi from Palandri.

It is worth noting that in recent days, Muslim League (N) and All Jammu and Kashmir Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam had agreed on a 10-point formula for an electoral alliance; though the 10 points have not yet been revealed.

Political observers say that Jamiat Ulema Jammu and Kashmir has again demanded a seat for Ulema and Mashaikh for Pir Mazhar Saeed in case of an alliance with N League.
