MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission on Wednesday released the final polling scheme for the general elections 2026, announcing that 6,983 polling stations and 10,913 polling booths will be established to facilitate voting across the state and for refugee voters residing in Pakistan.
According to the commission, a total of 3,804,368 registered voters will be eligible to cast their votes, including 2,001,653 male voters and 1,802,715 female voters.
The Election Commission spokesperson further said that 3,365,686 citizens, including 1,753,777 men and 1,611,909 women, will cast their votes in 33 territorial constituencies of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In addition, 438,682 voters will be eligible to cast their votes in 12 constituencies reserved for refugees residing in Pakistan.
As per the final list of nominated candidates, 846 candidates will contest the AJK Legislative Assembly elections, with 703 in the 33 AJK constituencies and 143 in 12 refugee constituencies.
