MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that elections in some constituencies will be postponed, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement, an Election Commission spokesperson confirmed that no elections are being delayed in any constituency and that the electoral process is continuing according to the announced schedule.
The spokesperson said the final list of candidates has been issued for all 45 constituencies, while election symbols have also been allotted to political parties and independent candidates.
Polling will take place on July 27 across all 45 seats, including 33 constituencies in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 12 constituencies reserved for Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan, as previously announced.
The Election Commission emphasized that all preparations for the general elections are progressing as planned and urged the public not to believe unverified information circulating on social media.
The spokesperson specifically rejected claims that polling in constituencies, including Poonch, would be held after July 27, calling such reports baseless and advising voters to rely only on official announcements issued by the Election Commission.
