ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to waive the mandatory MDCAT requirement for Pakistani students seeking admission to foreign medical and dental institutions.

The PMDC has issued a public notice to this effect, stating that Pakistani students will be exempted from the MDCAT for admission to medical and dental institutions abroad.

According to the notice, the Council made this decision during a meeting held on September 14; consequently, passing the MDCAT will no longer be mandatory for Pakistani students aspiring to enroll in foreign medical and dental institutions.

Under the PMDC’s decision, such students will now be able to apply for admission to foreign medical and dental institutions without the MDCAT, although they must still fulfill other relevant admission criteria.
