ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Monday issued a temporary electricity load-shedding schedule for October 6 and 7 due to ongoing development projects being carried out by the district administration.

The IESCO spokesperson said that a limited shutdown will be observed in various areas due to the relocation of power poles and other installations, construction of new flyovers, underpasses, 11 KV feeders, and road expansion works.

Schedule for October 6

Power supply will be suspended in the areas connected to Islamabad Expressway, including Service Road, Sohan, Highway, Zia Masjid, and Iqbal Town feeders in Islamabad Circle on Tuesday from 8 am to 12 noon.

In Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, power supply will remain suspended from 8 am to 12 noon on Kalyal, Shahpur, Adiala, Khasala, Humyoun-I, Dhok Noor, Gulshan Abad, Rose Lane, Adiala Jail, Shegaon, Defence Road, Askari 14, PGHS and Samarzar feeders.

In Rawalpindi City Circle, the Fazaia feeder will also be affected during the same period.

In Attock Circle, power supply will be temporarily suspended from 8 am to 12 noon in the areas connected to Pind Priyaan, Multi Garden B-17, Cabinet Division, Sarai Kharboza, Valley, Sangjani, Shah Allah Ditta, Gulshan-e-Sehat, Paswal, AWT-1 and AWT-4 feeders.

In Jhelum Circle, power will be cut off from 8 am to 12 noon at Ward No. 08, Hayat Sir Road, Gujar Khan City, Scheme-I, Mutwa, Kangar, Kantorila, Mandera, New Mandera, Hameed Jhangi and LTC feeders.

Schedule for October 7

On Wednesday, AFOSH feeder will be affected in Rawalpindi City Circle from 7 am to 2 pm, while power supply will be suspended from 7 am to 2 pm at Lalazar, Hussainabad and Karnal Sher Khan feeders in Attock Circle.

In Chakwal Circle, electricity supply to Mureed, Al-Qaim Mills, Bhoun, Karyala and KSM Unit-3 feeders will also remain suspended during the same period.

In a statement, IESCO management apologised to its consumers for this temporary interruption.

“The sole purpose of these shutdowns was to facilitate the timely completion of development projects, including construction of flyovers, underpasses, installation of new 11kV feeders, road widening and other related development activities,” it said.

The company has requested the cooperation of consumers, saying that information regarding the power outage schedule is also available on IESCO’s website and social media platforms.
