PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): Following protests in government hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the government has announced a 15% increase in salaries.
The government decided to raise the pay of doctors who did not participate in the strike, granting a 15% increase in the stipends of doctors who remained on duty during the protest.
The PGMI has requested lists of medical officers who worked during the strike and has directed medical teaching institutions to submit lists of trainees within two days.
These lists must include the trainee’s name, department, training level, and duty start date, as well as the name of the supervisor for those who performed duties during the strike.
Instructions have been issued to have information regarding trainee attendance and duty verified by the respective department chairs.
According to the Health Department, only those trainees who performed duties during the strike will be eligible for the 15% stipend increase; the additional 15% stipend for trainees who did not perform duties will remain pending until the dispute is resolved.
