ANKARA (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has said that we made sincere efforts in the negotiation process between the US and Iran with the sincere support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Addressing the Pakistan-Turkey Business to Business Conference in Istanbul, the Prime Minister said that it is now necessary to take advantage of the peace process and use new opportunities for bilateral cooperation and regional prosperity.
He said that Turkiye is a strong and sincere ally of Pakistan. PM Sharif said that the eternal relationship between the two countries has a history. The foundation of this unique and historical relationship was laid during Turkiye’s War of Independence.
The Prime Minister said that under the leadership of the Ali brothers, the Muslims of the subcontinent supported Turkiye’s struggle.
He said that Turkiye has fully supported Pakistan in every difficult time, for which we are grateful to the Turkish leadership.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Turkish investors can take full advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan, and there are investment opportunities in IT, AI, agriculture, and other sectors.
The Prime Minister said that business-to-business cooperation will become stronger with time, and Turkiye’s experiences should be taken advantage of for the privatization of discos and the improvement of the transmission system.
He said that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan defeated the enemy, and when war was imposed on us, it defended its sovereignty and dignity.
Islamabad MoU: Important development for World Peace: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (Islamabad MoU) is a very important development for world peace and we welcome its signing.
Addressing a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Erdogan said that Pakistan and Turkiye have stood by each other in every difficult time and this solidarity of the two countries will continue in the future.
He said that his country will continue to fully support Pakistan’s efforts for peace.
The Turkish President said that Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace, development, and prosperity are commendable, and we value Pakistan’s role in peace and stability in the region and the world.
He said that both countries will continue to support the efforts made for peace and prosperity.
President Erdogan said that during his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, bilateral relations and global and regional issues were discussed in detail. In addition, various aspects of increasing trade, investment, and economic cooperation were also discussed.
He expressed his determination that Turkey will encourage its business community to invest in Pakistan so that economic cooperation between the two countries can be further expanded.
President Erdogan also expressed his views on Israel’s actions against Iran and said that Israel is carrying out aggression to sabotage the agreement between the US and Iran, however, Turkey is constantly monitoring the situation.
He expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the bus accident in Balochistan and also offered his condolences to the affected families.
PM Sharif Meeting With Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warmly welcomed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who arrived in Turkey on a visit to the historic ‘Vahdettin Palace’ in Istanbul, where the two leaders held high-level talks to further strengthen bilateral relations.
According to Turkish media, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held an official reception in honor of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after which the two leaders had a one-on-one meeting in a closed room.
After the bilateral meeting, the two leaders began the second round of talks with their respective high-level delegations. The Turkish delegation included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Chief Ibrahim Kalin, Director of Communications Burhanuddin Duran and President Erdogan’s Chief Advisor Akif Çağatay Kilic.
After the conclusion of these meetings, the two heads of state also held a joint press conference.
According to Turkish media, the talks focused on further promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, defense, investment and counter-terrorism. In addition, the regional and global political situation was also an important part of the agenda.
According to Turkish media, the two leaders had in-depth discussions on issues related to peace and stability in the Middle East, including the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, the security of the Strait of Hormuz, the situation in Gaza and Syria.
