QUETTA (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said Pakistan’s military and political leadership are united in their resolve to eliminate terrorism following the series of deadly terrorist incidents across Balochistan.
He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee of the National Action Plan in Quetta.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and heads of LEAs.
Federal Ministers for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah also participated in the meeting.
Chairing the meeting, the premier said that the war against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated from the country, asserting that the country’s civil and military leadership had taken a mutual and singular decision to collectively eradicate terrorism.
The Prime Minister said grave incidents of terrorism had occurred over the past four days, resulting in the martyrdom of civilians as well as personnel of the police and the armed forces. He further noted that security forces killed 54 terrorists in retaliatory and clearance operations.

Sharif affirmed that the “entire nation stands firmly behind the armed forces and law enforcement agencies” in the fight to eradicate terrorism from the country’s soil.
The Prime Minister further said our eastern neighbour has a full hand in this mischief, adding that “they are providing financial aid and weapons to these terrorists and their organizations in every possible way”.
He added that terrorists also carry out attacks inside Pakistan from across the Afghan border. “These terrorists in Afghanistan collectively conduct attacks in Balochistan and KP,” he said.
He said Fitna al-Khawarij cannot tolerate the respect and recognition Pakistan has earned on the diplomatic front, as well as its victory in Marka-e-Haq.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that all available resources will be utilized to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and put the country on the path of sustainable development and prosperity.
He also paid rich tribute to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism and prayed for their elevated ranks.
