MUZZAFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a horrific event, a young woman died after reportedly being attacked by a plainclothes policeman on Pir Chanasi Road in Muzaffarabad.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman and man were driving from Pir Chanasi to Muzaffarabad when they were stopped by individuals dressed in civilian clothes.
Witnesses said the officer physically beat the woman, causing her to leave in fear.
In a frantic bid to flee, the woman, a resident of Plate neighborhood, raced to the roadside and leaped into a gorge, where she died instantly.
According to sources, the couple had just returned from a leisure trip to Pir Chinasi when they were approached.
It is said that the plainclothes officer halted their car on the premise of interrogation, resulting in the incident.
Police have yet to provide an official statement on the matter.
