ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Interior Minister of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi arrived at Boeing’s headquarters at Washington on Thursday for a meeting with Boeing Global President Brendan Nelson for discussion on the procurement of new aircraft for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Some people from the new management of PIA were present in the meeting, as it was a clear sign that the government is determined to update its fleet in order to make PIA a stronger and more efficient airline.
Both parties decided that they should try to reach an agreement on the deal as soon as possible. Minister Naqvi expressed his gratitude to Boeing Global President Brendan Nelson for his full support in expediting the procurement process for the new aircraft of PIA.
The Minister praised the prominent position of Boeing in the worldwide aerospace business and Boeing’s significant contribution in the manufacturing of aircraft.
The planned procurement of 16 aircraft was supposed to be one of the most important steps in PIA’s fleet modernization of PIA.
