PIA-branded balloon found in occupied Kashmir sparks panic

SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): Reports from Indian media suggest that a balloon bearing the name of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was found in the Samna district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu, triggering panic among local authorities.

Following the discovery, police reportedly took the balloon into custody and initiated an investigation into the matter.

According to initial reports, officials are trying to determine how the PIA-labelled balloon managed to reach Indian territory from across the border.

Inquiry to ascertain origin of the balloon

In a post on X on Friday, IANS reported that authorities have launched an inquiry to ascertain the origin of the balloon and the circumstances under which it arrived in the area.

“In Samba district, a balloon bearing “PIA” and text written in Urdu was found in the Kotli area of the Ramgarh sector. A local resident spotted the balloon and alerted police. A team reached the spot, seized the balloon and launched an investigation to ascertain its origin and any possible security implications,” the IANS post said.
