ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has rejected what he described as Indian propaganda against him, saying personal attacks and criticism would not change the realities on the ground.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Khawaja Asif responded to criticism from across the border and said that attempts to target him personally were aimed at diverting attention from more important issues.

“The problem will not be solved through personal attacks or by calling me mentally unstable,” the defence minister said.

Khawaja Asif said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was facing significant pressure following what he described as a defeat at the hands of Pakistan, adding that a propaganda campaign against him would not help restore Modi’s reputation.

The defence minister further stated that questions had also been raised within India regarding the international recognition and awards received by Prime Minister Modi. He referred to remarks made by Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and reports in international media questioning the credibility and transparency of certain honours awarded to the Indian premier.

According to Khawaja Asif, efforts to enhance Modi’s image through international praise and publicity campaigns would not succeed if underlying concerns remained unaddressed.
