PCB palces Haider Ali under provisional suspension amid UK police investigation

LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday said that cricketer Haider Ali has been placed under provisional suspension following a criminal investigation being carried out by police in the United Kingdom (UK).

According to the cricketing board, the Greater Manchester Police is carrying out an investigation involving Haider Ali, pertaining to an incident that reportedly took place during the Pakistan Shaheens’ recent tour of England.

As per the statement, the PCB has decided to place Haider Ali under provisional suspension, effective immediately, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

“In line with its duty of care and responsibility to ensure the welfare and legal rights of all its players, the PCB has ensured that Haider Ali has received appropriate legal support to protect his rights throughout this process,” the PCB stated.

The PCB also stated that once the legal proceedings are concluded and all facts have been duly established, it reserves the right to take further action under its Code of Conduct, if necessary.

Until such time as the legal process reaches its conclusion, the PCB will not offer further comment on the matter,” it added.
