LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) talent hunt programme has kicked off in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with matches underway among 24 school cricket teams from the Muzaffarabad and Mirpur divisions.
The initiative aims to promote cricket at the school level and provide young players with opportunities to showcase their talent and pursue careers in the sport.
Speaking on the occasion, Tanveer Mughal, Regional President for Azad Kashmir, said that a tournament involving 1,400 school cricket teams across Pakistan was a world record.
He claimed that no other country had organized a school cricket tournament on such a large scale.
The programme is part of efforts to strengthen grassroots cricket and identify promising young players who could go on to represent their regions and the national team.
