ATHMUQAM (Kashmir English): A large rally was held in Athmuqam by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir to demand a solution to the Kashmir issue and raise voices against Indian oppression in IIOJK.
The rally saw participation from a large number of citizens, including elders, youth, and children. Many carried banners and placards that called for an immediate Kashmir issue solution. Thousands in the crowd shouted loud slogans opposing the oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Holding signs and shouting, people marched near the Line of Control, protesting with the slogans “The Kashmir watered with our blood belongs to us” and “Solve the Kashmir issue now.” The people also chanted “Give freedom to Kashmir” and“Freedom, freedom, give Kashmir freedom”.
Speakers at the rally stressed the urgent need for a Kashmir issue solution, saying it is key to establishing lasting peace between Pakistan and India. Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, stated that granting the right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir would bring sustainable peace to South Asia.
He added that peace in the region is directly tied to Kashmir’s freedom, and the people of Kashmir desire liberty, justice, and peace. Ghazali urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfil its promise of holding a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. He warned India to recognise that the people of Kashmir are determined to gain freedom.
Usman Ali Hashim, Vice Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat, also addressed the rally and called on civilised nations around the world to take concrete steps for a Kashmir issue solution. He said the people of Azad Kashmir stand ready with the Pakistan Armed Forces for the freedom of occupied Kashmir.
Other speakers included Sharafat Hussain Malik, Faisal Farooq, Muhammad Fayaz Khan, Rafiqat Gilani, and Muhammad Aimal Farzam, who all echoed the demand for justice and freedom for Kashmir.
The rally ended with a renewed call for global attention and action toward a peaceful Kashmir issue solution.
