MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The district administration of Muzaffarabad has officially announced the latest chicken, vegetable, fruit and egg prices, with immediate implementation.
Strict legal action will be taken against shopkeepers found violating the new pricing list.
According to the notification, the price of live broiler chicken has been fixed at Rs475 per kilogram, while broiler meat will be available at Rs440 per kilogram.
The rate for pure desi chicken has been set at Rs1,050 per kg, and golden chicken will be sold at Rs850 per kg.
In terms of eggs, those weighing between 40 to 50 grams will be sold at Rs295 per dozen, while larger eggs weighing 51 to 65 grams will be priced at Rs315 per dozen.
White potatoes will be sold at Rs60 per kg, while red potatoes are priced at Rs70 per kg. Red onions are set at Rs50 per kg. Tomatoes will cost Rs70, Chinese garlic Rs310, and Chinese ginger Rs760 per kg.
Cauliflower will be available at Rs130, capsicum at Rs170, and bitter gourd at Rs90 per kg. Brinjal (eggplant) is priced at Rs100, pumpkin at Rs60, colocasia (arvi) at Rs270, cucumber at Rs90, and desi spinach at Rs70 per kg. Carrots are priced at Rs90, while lemons will be sold at Rs610 per kg.
In fruits, white apples will be available at Rs250 per kg, mountain apples at Rs310, and Kala apples at Rs 290 per kg. Bananas will be sold in two varieties, VIP bananas at Rs250 and regular bananas at Rs180 per dozen.
Among mango varieties, Sindhri mangoes will cost Rs310 per kg, while Langra mangoes will be priced at Rs210 per kg. Desi apricots are set at Rs310 per kg, white melons at Rs90, and watermelons at Rs80 per kg.
The administration has instructed shopkeepers to clearly display the official price list for the latest chicken, vegetable, fruit and egg prices and ensure visible price tags on all items.
Strict action will be taken against anyone found charging more than the approved rates. Citizens have also been urged to report any cases of overpricing to the relevant authorities.
