LISBON (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tennis Star Aisam-ul-Haq won the mixed doubles title of the ITF Masters World Championship.
The Tennis star won the mixed doubles world title with Austria’s Nina Hermann.
Aisam-ul-Haq and Nina Hermann defeated Portugal’s top-seeded pair, Fred Gill and Rita Freitas, 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
Meanwhile, Aisam-ul-Haq and Aqeel Khan were defeated by France’s Jacques Galle and Jean-Baptiste Renault in the final.
Pakistan has won four medals in the ITF Masters World Championship: one gold, two silver, and one bronze.
Aqeel Khan won the bronze medal with Germany’s Elaine Aranas Roth in the 40-plus mixed doubles, while Aisam-ul-Haq and Aqeel Khan won the silver medal in the men’s 45-plus doubles of the World Championship.
Aisam’s latest triumph marks another memorable performance for Pakistan tennis, further strengthening the country’s standing on the international stage.
