MURREE (Kashmir English): An important meeting of the parliamentary party of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held in Murree on Saturday under the chairmanship of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
During the high-level meeting, the PML-N leadership discussed priorities for the formation and functioning of the new government in AJK, good governance, immediate solution of public issues, public welfare, and development placed at the centre of deliberations.
According to the sources, during the meeting, the participants stressed that the new government should meet public expectations, ensure merit, transparency and good governance, and pay special attention to solving basic problems.
Suggestions were considered to include education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure, electricity, roads and other basic public services in the government’s development priorities.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, former Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz, senior PML-N leaders and newly elected PML-N lawmakers of the AJK Legislative Assembly.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Ahsan Iqbal, Engineer Amir Muqam, Talal Chaudhry, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Pervez Rashid also attended the meeting.
From PML-N Azad Kashmir, the party’s regional president Shah Ghulam Qadir, former Azad Kashmir prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly, and other senior leaders were present.
