BANGKOK (Kashmir English): Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) elections, winning all three directors’ seats.
According to media reports, the annual general meeting was chaired by ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while India was represented in the meeting by Rajiv Shukla.
There was tough competition for the election of directors at the Asian Cricket Council meeting in Bangkok, with the Pakistani-backed panel defeating the Indian-backed candidates on all three seats.
For the first time since the establishment of the ACC, the Pakistan-backed panel won all three seats. According to sources, Qatar Cricket Association President Sheikh Abdul Aziz had Pakistan’s support as a director in the ACC meeting.
The meeting discussed the venues for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2027, and measures to promote cricket in the region were also considered.
