Pakistan storm into FIVB U17 World Championship Round of 16

DOHA (Kashmir English): Pakistan booked their place in the Round of 16 of the FIVB U17 World Championship 2026 after producing a dominant 3-0 victory over Algeria in their Pool E match in Doha on Monday.

The Green Shirts completely outclassed Algeria throughout the high-stakes encounter, securing a straight-set victory with identical scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17.

Pakistan maintained control of the match from the outset and dominated the statistical battle.

They registered 37 attack points compared with Algeria’s 27, while also holding advantages in blocks (11-8) and service points (4-2). Pakistan further benefited from 23 errors committed by their opponents, compared with 15 errors by the Green Shirts.

Fahad Ali once again led Pakistan’s scoring charts, producing an impressive 20-point performance. He contributed 16 points through attacks and played a key role in Pakistan’s commanding victory.

Captain Muhammad Irfan also made an important contribution, adding five points through his attacking play and helping Pakistan maintain their momentum throughout the contest.

The victory over Algeria marked Pakistan’s second win of the tournament. The young Pakistani side had started its campaign on a positive note by defeating Chinese Taipei in their opening Pool E fixture.

Pakistan secured a 3-0 victory over Chinese Taipei, winning 25-20, 25-10 and 25-23 to begin their World Championship campaign with confidence.

With two victories from their three Pool E matches, Pakistan have now advanced to the Round of 16, where they will face Egypt on August 25 at the same venue in Doha.
