ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 50 more foreigners hiding in the plaza of a private housing society during a crackdown on call centers in Islamabad.
According to the FIA, 50 more foreigners hiding in the plaza of a private housing society have been arrested and shifted to jail.
Earlier, 250 foreigners were shifted to Adiala and Attock jails. In the first phase of deporting foreigners, 50 Vietnamese nationals were also deported.
On the other hand, the National Cybercrime and Investigation Agency detained dozens of foreigners during three different operations in Islamabad between August 13 and 21.
These foreigners were investigated on charges of online fraud and blackmailing of overseas citizens and obtaining financial gain through sexual content.
According to media reports, the scope of the investigation by the FIA, NCCIA and Islamabad Police has been extended to the PTA, FBR and SECP.
It has been decided to include 671 foreign nationals arrested so far for illegally running call centers in the foreign blacklist.
The process of informing the relevant countries about the alleged crimes through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also underway.
