ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi late Wednesday announced the rescheduling of the remaining two matches of the ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The development came after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that the ongoing Pakistan tour will proceed as scheduled, following requests from its national team players to return home due to security concerns.

In a post on X, the PCB chairman, who is also the Interior Minister, welcomed the Sri Lankan cricket board’s decision to continue the Pakistan tour.

“Grateful to the Sri Lankan team for their decision to continue the Pakistan tour. The spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity shines bright,” the PCB chief wrote.

Furthermore, Naqvi also announced that the ODI matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will now be played on November 14 and 16 in Rawalpindi. It was scheduled to take place on November 13 and 15.

In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said, “The 2nd ODI, which was originally scheduled for 13 November 2025, will now be played on 14 November 2025 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.”

The tickets purchased for November 13 will remain valid and can be used for entry on November 14, it added.

“Similarly, the 3rd ODI, which was previously set for 15 November 2025, has been rescheduled to 16 November 2025. All tickets purchased for 15 November will be valid for the 16 November fixture,” the PCB stated.

Earlier today, SLC instructed all national team players, support staff, and team management to continue with the ongoing three-match ODI series as scheduled.

“If any player or member of the team staff or management decides to return, Sri Lanka Cricket will immediately send replacements to ensure that the tour continues without interruption,” the statement assured.

The Sri Lankan cricketing body warned that “if any player or member of the support staff returns despite its directives, a formal review will be conducted to assess their actions, and an appropriate decision will be made upon the conclusion of the review.”

Earlier, international news agency AFP, citing an SLC official, reported that at least eight Sri Lankan cricket team players will return home mid-tour, abandoning the ongoing three-match ODI series in Pakistan, due to security concerns.
