HAIKOU (Kashmir English): Pakistan produced an awesome performance by beating Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in the opening match of the Asian Boys Under-18 Volleyball Championship 2026.
On the very first day of the tournament in Haikou, China, the Pakistani national team completely dominated throughout the game and emerged winners with the set scores of 10-25, 19-25, and 25-17.
With effective service, good blocking, and hard attacks, the national team put immense pressure on the opponent and won the first set 25-10.
Kyrgyzstan tried to offer some resistance in the second set, but Pakistan showed great teamwork and skill to lead 25-19.
Pakistan played effectively in defense and attacks in the third set too, emerging 25-17 winners to win the match 3-0.
Fahad Ali, Muhammad Anas, Captain Muhammad Irfan, Asadullah, and Faizanullah played very impressively for the team of Pakistan.
The aggressive attacks of Fahad Ali, effective blocking of Muhammad Anas, leadership of Captain Muhammad Irfan, defensive skills of Asadullah, and effective attacks of Faizanullah were key in the victory of the team.
Pakistan U-18 team head coach Kifayatullah was pleased with the victory and said that a good start in a tournament is always important.
Pakistan will play its second group match against Kazakhstan on July 13, while the third match is against Thailand on July 14. Both matches will start at 7:30 am Pakistan time.
