Pakistan including Kashmir to have rainfall during Eid holidays

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan weather department has warned of potential windstorms and rainfall during the Eid holidays.

It said the weather system may pose risk to weak infrastructure, particularly in northern and mountainous regions.

The PMD said that rain is expected at various areas including Dir, Swat, Chitral, and Kohistan during the eid holidays. From June 3 to 5, there is a forecast of rain accompanied by strong winds in Islamabad, Murree, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, and Swat. Some locations may also experience hailstorms.

Eid-ul-Adha on June 7

Pakistan will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on June 7. Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast the possibility of strong winds and rainfall during the eid holidays, also urging tourists and travelers to exercise caution during the festive days.

Federal capital Islamabad and parts of upper and central Punjab, along with regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, are likely to receive heavy rain with gusty winds on June 3 and 4.

The northern areas of the country may experience potential windstorms and rainfall starting tonight (Monday).

Meanwhile, plains across the country are expected to remain under the grip of intense heat during the Eid holidays.
