MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Two more persons from Azad Kashmir’s (AJK)’s Muzaffarabad district and Jhelum Valley district, have fallen into the hands of Kacha dacoits, as a video of them being tortured has also surfaced on social media.
The dacoits have demanded a hefty ransom from the citizens’ families, which has caused severe distress to their heirs, while the government has not yet taken any notice of the situation.
Kashmir Digital had previously reported the abduction of a citizen from Neelum a few days ago, stating that Ahmed Khan from Neelum Valley was trapped and abducted by Kacha dacoits.
According to details, Aziz-ur-Rehman Awan, an elderly citizen from Atrasi village, Constituency 5 Khawra, Muzaffarabad, and Bashir Khan from Chakkar, Jhelum Valley district, have fallen into the hands of dacoits in what seems to a fresh case of kidnapping for ransom.
Videos of the elderly citizen from Atrasi village have gone viral on social media, in which the dacoits have demanded Rs3 million in cash and two iPhones.
Appeal to AJK govt
The locals have appealed to the authorities to take notice and play a role in his recovery.
The other victim is Bashir Khan, a resident of Naagni Kesar Kot, a suburban area of Chakkar Tehsil, Jhelum Valley, was tricked and abducted by Kashmore Kacha dacoits.
The dacoits have demanded millions of rupees in ransom from Bashir Khan’s family for his release.
The abductee said in a video that the dacoits are subjecting him to brutal physical torture for non-payment of ransom. “I am in great difficulty, my life should be saved by paying ransom to the dacoits.”
The family has appealed to the Azad Kashmir government to play a role in his release.
It should be noted that Kacha dacoits trap and abduct citizens by offering cheap goods and then demand a hefty ransom.
