KARACHI (Kashmir English): Discussions are underway regarding Pakistan cricket team’s another tour of England next year.
As part of preparations for the ICC Men’s World Cup, both nations may play five One Day International matches.
Furthermore, the Asia Cup, to be played in the ODI format, will be held in Bangladesh from June 18 to July 4 next year.
According to details, under the ICC Future Tours Programme(FTP) for 2023–2027, Pakistan will play its final scheduled series in March against New Zealand, featuring two Test matches.
Currently, all cricketing nations are engaged in discussions over the new schedule. Further deliberations are expected during the International Cricket Council’s meeting scheduled to take place in Scotland later this month.
Five ODIs in England next year
The PCB has also planned to play five ODIs in England next year as part of preparations for the next year’s World Cup.
The proposed series may also include a Test match, although details are yet to be finalized.
The next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held from October 4 to November 21 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s T20 team will participate in the cricket event at the Asian Games in Japan from September 24 to October 3, 2026.
During the current season, Pakistan will host Sri Lanka for three T20 matches in October, and a triangular series including England is also planned.
The Sri Lankan team will return in November for a two-Test series. Additionally, a triangular series including Zimbabwe will be staged.
Pakistan will also tour the West Indies for two Test matches later this month, followed by a three-Test series in England.
The proposed dates for the next year ODI Asia Cup are June 18 to July 4, to be hosted by Bangladesh.
A total of 13 matches will be played in the tournament, featuring Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and one associate team.
