Pakistan defeats South Korea 3-1 to level hockey test series

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s national hockey team has made a brilliant comeback in the second match of the Pakistan-South Korea Test series, defeating  Korea 3-1 to take the lead in the series.

Captain Abu Bakar Mahmood scored 2 important goals and was declared ‘Man of the Match’, while the national team won the victory with an aggressive game in the second half.

The second Test match, organized by the Pakistan Hockey Federation at the Naseer Banda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad, started with a tough competition between the two teams.

The first half saw excellent defensive play from both sides, however, in the 30th minute, South Korean player Sun Dan scored a field goal to give his team a 0-1 lead.

After half-time, the national team adopted an aggressive approach and just 3 minutes later, Abdul Rehman scored a brilliant field goal in the 33rd minute to level the match at 1-1.

After the equalizer, Pakistan took complete control of the match. National team captain Abubakar Mahmood scored a beautiful goal from a penalty corner in the 52nd minute to give Pakistan a 1-2 lead.

Pakistan once again got a penalty corner in the final moments of the match, which Abubakar Mahmood successfully converted into a goal in the 60th minute, making the score 1-3 and sealing Pakistan’s victory.

National team captain Abubakar Mahmood was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ award for scoring 2 decisive goals in the match. His leadership skills and aggressive play played a key role in the national team’s success.
