ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has urged the Afghan Taliban government to respond to concrete evidence of terrorism rather than attempting to divert attention through mere rhetoric.

According to the Ministry, terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan reflect the failure of the Afghan Taliban government; the threat posed by terrorist groups present in Afghanistan cannot be concealed.

The Ministry noted that a UN Security Council report highlights the presence of 6,000 operatives from a proscribed organization in Afghanistan and mentions the Afghan Taliban’s support for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The statement urged the Afghan Taliban government to take concrete measures—rather than denying the threat of terrorism—and to conduct verifiable operations against terrorist safe havens and networks.

The Ministry also criticized the Afghan Taliban for imposing bans on girls’ education and violating fundamental human rights, stating that these actions contradict the Taliban government’s own claims.

According to the Ministry, Pakistan remains committed to dialogue; however, for meaningful progress to occur, the Afghan Taliban must fulfill their counter-terrorism pledges.

The statement further emphasized that the responsibility for preventing the use of Afghan soil for attacks against Pakistan lies with the Afghan Taliban government. Pakistan will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and defense of its citizens.
