LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a 15-member national team for the T20 World Cup 2026. According to the announcement, Salman Ali Agha has been entrusted with the leadership of the Pakistan T20 team, who will lead the national team in the World Cup.
The announced squad includes Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Muhammad Nafi, Muhammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan, Usman Tariq, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, and Naseem Shah.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, this squad has been formed keeping in mind the requirements of different conditions and matches during the World Cup, so that the players can perform at their best and the national team can be strengthened in international competitions.
The Pakistan team will start its T20 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on February 7. The tournament matches will continue from February 7 to March 8, during which the best teams from around the world will compete against each other for world honors. The PCB has clarified that the selected list of players included in the squad has been prepared keeping in mind the different situations, conditions, and needs of the team during the World Cup.
Before the World Cup, the national team will formally begin its preparations with a three-match T20 series against Australia. This series is being described as an important stage in the preparations for the World Cup, in which the players will get an opportunity to test their form, combination, and strategy. According to experts, this series will not only help the national team in increasing the capabilities of the players but also in improving the team’s combination and strategy.
