LONDON (Kashmir English): Pakistan Women’s team achieved its first victory in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup with a brilliant performance.
The national team opened the winning account in the event by defeating the Netherlands by 37 runs. Batting first, Pakistan scored 126 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Opener Gull Feroza played a responsible batting and played an unbeaten innings of 63 runs and played an important role in the team’s success. She was fully supported by Ayesha Zafar, who scored 32 runs to strengthen the total.
Chasing a target of 127 runs, the Netherlands team could not stay long in front of the Pakistani bowlers and the entire team was dismissed for 89 runs.
National captain Fatima Sana bowled brilliantly, taking three wickets, while Ayesha Zafar also showed great performance with the ball, taking three wickets.
