DUBAI (Kashmir English): India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026.
The entire Pakistan team was dismissed for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs while chasing, India achieved the target in the 9th over for the loss of 3 wickets.
For India, Prema Rawat and Sree Charani took 3 wickets each to break the back of Pakistan’s batting line, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 18 and Deepti Sharma scored an unbeaten 12 runs to lead the team to victory.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and decided to bat first. Muniba Ali and Shawal Zulfiqar made a cautious start to the innings, putting on 27 runs for the first wicket.
India got their first wicket in the 5th over, when Shafiali Verma sent Muniba Ali back to the pavilion for 13 runs after hitting a boundary.
In the very next over, Sree Charani dealt Pakistan two big blows. She dismissed Gul Feroza for 0 runs, while Shawal Zulfiqar was also dismissed for 14 runs.
Shawal was the highest run-scorer for Pakistan, and her innings included 3 boundaries.
Charani’s consecutive blows created such a stir in Pakistan’s batting that the remaining 7 wickets fell for just 26 runs. Captain Fatima Sana was also out for a duck.
Tooba Hassan tried to resist, but the Pakistani batting could not hold out long against the Indian bowling, and the entire team was bowled out for 55 runs in 18.1 overs.
This was also Pakistan’s lowest total ever in a Women’s T20 International.
Prema Rawat and Sree Charani took 3 wickets each, Deepti Sharma took 2, and Shafiali Verma took 1 wicket.

Chasing a modest target of 56 runs, India did not start as confidently as expected. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana dismissed Shafiali Verma for 12 and Pratika Rawal for 4 in the second over, reducing India to 18 for 2.
After that, Harmanpreet Kaur tried to take over the innings with Smriti Mandhana. The two added 11 runs for the third wicket, but Fatima Sana succeeded once again, sending Mandhana to the pavilion for 9 runs.
India had lost 3 wickets for 29 runs at the end of 4 overs.
After falling for 3 wickets for 29 runs, Harmanpreet Kaur batted responsibly with Deepti Sharma, leaving Pakistan without any further opportunities.
The two put on an unbeaten 28-run partnership for the fourth wicket, and India achieved the target in the 9th over, thus winning by 7 wickets with 68 balls to spare.
Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 18 runs off 18 balls, which included 1 four and 1 six, while Deepti Sharma remained not out on 12 runs off 14 balls.
Fatima Sana was the only successful bowler from Pakistan, taking 3 wickets for 17 runs in 3 overs.
