QUETTA (Kashmir English): The repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan is continuing rapidly, with about 11,600 Afghan refugees being sent back to Afghanistan on Thursday.
According to official figures, 1.696 million Afghan refugees have returned home so far.
Pakistani officials say that the process of repatriating Afghan refugees is being carried out under a completely legal procedure, and they are allowed to cross the border only after verification of each person’s documents.
Pakistan has considered the return of Afghan refugees as an important step, keeping in mind its national security.
Due to the previous civil war in Afghanistan, Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees over the past 40 years and set an exceptional example.
During this time, Afghan refugees were not only given shelter but also provided accommodation and food.
The Pakistani government has said that the FC and the civil administration are providing full cooperation in this process of repatriation of Afghan refugees so that the return of Afghans can be done in a safe and dignified manner.
Entry into Pakistan will no longer be possible without a passport and visa.
It should be remembered that only the safe and dignified evacuation of illegal Afghans from Pakistan is being ensured after the deadline expired.
All these steps are proof that Pakistan, keeping in mind the principles of humanitarianism, wants a lasting, dignified, and peaceful solution to the problem of Afghan refugees.
