ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that a total of 138,000 students have registered for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026.

According to the council, the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for admission to medical and dental colleges will be held simultaneously across the country on Sunday, August 16, at 10 am.

The PMDC said that the MDCAT registration with a regular fee continued till July 13, while the last date for registration with a late fee is July 18.

The PMDC further announced that once the examination center is selected, it cannot be changed later.

MDCAT will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions, and there will be no negative marking in the exam.

In addition, candidates will have to complete online registration through the MDCAT portal, while incomplete applications will not be accepted. The MDCAT syllabus and other details will be available on the PMDC website.

PMDC has also clarified that the council reserves the right to change the examination schedule if necessary.

MDCAT 2026 centers

In Sindh, MDCAT will be conducted under IBA University, Sukkur; the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, will conduct the admission test in Punjab, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, and in Balochistan, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta, will oversee MDCAT.

The examination in Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Riyadh will be conducted by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad.

According to PMDC, a test center will be established in Islamabad for students of Balochistan under the supervision of Bolan University, and candidates with Balochistan domicile will benefit from the additional examination center.

MDCAT in Sindh will take place in centers established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. In Punjab, candidates will participate in the test in 14 different cities.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, examination centers will be set up in 8 cities, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, and Abbottabad, while candidates in Balochistan will be able to take the exam in Quetta, and a test center will also be set up in Riyadh for international candidates.
