ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in LPG prices by Rs 4.33 per kg from September 1.
OGRA has issued a notification regarding the increase in LPG prices.
According to the OGRA notification, the new price of LPG per kg has become Rs 258.65.
According to the OGRA notification, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 51.17.
The new price of an 11.8 kg LPG cylinder has been set at Rs 3,052.9.
LPG prices increasing day by day amid gas shortage
Earlier in Lahore, the situation with gas load shedding drastically raised the cost of LPG. Because of this, consumers are suffering extremely financially.
Although the government has set the official price of LPG at Rs. 254 per kg, sellers charge between Rs. 380 and Rs. 520 per kg in different areas of the city.
Citizens claimed that the gas shortage has made them dependent on LPG. Meanwhile, the authorities have not succeeded in implementing the official rates.
They also claimed that LPG sellers charge customers differently in different parts of the city. This means that consumers pay much more for this commodity.
Consumers also complained that they do not receive enough gas supply but continue paying their gas bills. In addition, costly LPG prices are affecting household budgets. Therefore, citizens requested the government to implement rules regulating LPG prices.
