ISTANBUL (Kashmir English): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held high-level meetings in Turkiye and also attended a meeting held under the Joint Defense Mecca Agreement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who is in Turkiye, held high-level meetings in Istanbul.
During these meetings, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defense cooperation and regional security situation were discussed, strategic partnership and possibilities of further strengthening defense cooperation were discussed.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held separate meetings with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler and Turkish Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktarğlu.
During these meetings, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defense cooperation and the regional security situation were discussed.
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended a meeting of the Strategic, Political and Defence Committee established under the ‘Makkah Agreement’ for joint defence, which includes Pakistan, Turkey and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The three sides reviewed the possibilities of further strengthening the strategic partnership and defence cooperation.
According to the ISPR, these meetings were a reflection of the brotherly relations and growing strategic and defence cooperation between Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
