MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The elections for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly have been completed, with Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and Ahmed Raza Qadri securing the top parliamentary positions.
Chaudhry Tariq Farooq was elected Speaker of the AJK Legislative Assembly with 32 votes, while Ahmed Raza Qadri was elected Deputy Speaker with 32 votes.
Following his election, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq became the 16th Speaker of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Ahmed Raza Qadri was elected the 15th Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. The successful completion of the elections marks an important step in the formation of the parliamentary leadership of the AJK Assembly.
