MUZAFFARABAD: Nephew of former AJK PM shot dead. Raja Naqsh, the nephew of former Prime Minister (PM) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Farooq Haider, was shot dead at Hatyan Bala yesterday night.
Naqash was reportedly riding a motorbike with his nephew, Osama when the unfortunate event occurred late at night. The nephew of the victim was taken into police custody.
Osama delayed reporting the shooting until 2:00am, despite initially claiming it happened at 8:30pm , according to the police. Authorities are presently looking to find any plausible factors causing this delay.
A post-mortem was performed on the deceased’s body after it was moved to the District Headquarters Hospital in Hatyan Bala to help with the inquiry.
According to the Jhelum Valley SP, Mirza Zahid Hussain, the police have established roadblocks and are conducting raids in an effort to apprehend the assailants. He was optimistic that the culprits would soon be put behind bars.
“Soon the murderers will be behind bars,” he expressed hope to the public after the Nephew of former AJK PM shot dead.
Who was Raja Farooq Haider?
According to Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Muzaffarbad official website Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider served from 2016 to 2021.
Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider, the victim’s uncle and former PM of AJK comes from a prominent political family. His father was president of the Muslim Conference for two terms before Raja Farooq began his early political career there. From 1986 until 1990, Haider continued to serve as the president of the Muslim Conference for the Muzaffarabad District of Azad Kashmir.
From 1989 to 2001, Haider remained Chairman of the Central Parliamentary Board of Muslim Conference AJ&K. From 1997 to 2001, he served as the Muslim Conference AJ&K’s general secretary. From 2004 to 2006, he remained Senior Deputy President Muslim Conference AJ&K.
The Muslim Conference was established by his father, Raja Muhammad Haider Khan, who served as its president twice, in 1960 and 1963.
In the history of AJK his mother, Mohterma Saeeda Khan, is the first woman to serve as a member of the Legislative Assembly. In 1970, Raja Muhammad Latif Khan, his uncle, was chosen to serve in the AJ&K Legislative Assembly. From 1991 to 1996, his sister, Ms. Noreen Haider, also known as Mrs. Noreen Jamshed, continued to serve as a member of the AJ&K Legislative Assembly.
