ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Cyber Crimes Investigation Authority (NCCIA) has issued an urgent warning regarding fraudulent New Year greeting links circulating online.
Officials cautioned that hackers are using fake greeting cards, bogus gift offers, and malware-infected app files to compromise mobile devices.
To protect your personal and financial information, the NCCIA and cybersecurity experts have recommended to avoid Unknown Links.
They urged not to click on unsolicited greeting links or download suspicious files received via WhatsApp or social media, as clicking these links can allow hackers to steal photos, contact lists, and bank account details.
They said never share your WhatsApp verification codes or OTPs with anyone.
New Year celebrations
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant to ensure their New Year celebrations are not disrupted by cybercriminals.
Experts have advised people to ignore such links, as they pose a risk of phone hacking.
