ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The enforcement agencies and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have arrested four people allegedly involved in preparing fake identity documents for Afghan citizens, following which sensational and important revelations have come to light.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrested suspects include NADRA Assistant Director Inam-ul-Haq, Deputy Assistant Director Fayyaz Ahmed, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) watchman Junaid Ahmed and a private agent Muhammad Omar Shah.
According to initial investigations, the suspects were allegedly facilitating the issuance of fake identity documents to Afghan citizens, alteration of government records, and other illegal activities.
According to the FIA, initial evidence has identified the possible links of the aforementioned network with terrorist elements, due to which the security and investigative agencies have further expanded the scope of the investigation.
During the operation, important official records of NADRA and other evidence have been seized, while further investigation is underway with the arrested suspects.
Officials say that there is a strong possibility of more important revelations and arrests during the investigation. The FIA and security agencies have reiterated that strict action will be taken against all internal mafias involved in issuing fake identity documents and harming national security.
